Nonlinear modes of a macroscopic quantum oscillator

We consider the Bose–Einstein condensate in a parabolic trap as a macroscopic quantum oscillator and describe, analytically and numerically, its collective modes — a nonlinear generalisation of the (symmetric and antisymmetric) Hermite–Gauss eigenmodes of a harmonic quantum oscillator.  2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Quantum-Like Behavior of Nonlinear Classical Oscillator

We construct the classical dynamical system which has a quantum-like behavior. We have shown that the energy-time uncertainty relation takes place for the system and it has purely classical nature. We investigate the behavior of the system and propose a “classical” explanation of Franck-Hertz experiments.

Factorization Solution of Cariñena's Quantum Nonlinear Oscillator

In a recent paper [1] Cariñena et al analyzed a non-polynomial onedimensional quantum potential representing an oscillator which they argued was intermediate between the harmonic and isotonic oscillators. In particular they proved that it is Schrödinger soluble, and explicitly obtained the wavefunctions and energies of the bound states. In this paper we show that these results can be obtained m...

Optical actuation of a macroscopic mechanical oscillator

An intensity-modulated HeNe-laser beam was utilized to optically actuate the mechanical resonance of a macroscopic torsional silicon oscillator (f 0 = 67 700 Hz, Q = 42 100 at p = 1 mbar and T = 300 K). Both radiation pressure and photothermal effects may cause optical actuation of a mechanical device. Both excitation effects were studied. In actuation through radiation pressure, the actuating ...

Efficient Solution of Nonlinear Duffing Oscillator

In this paper, the efficient multi-step differential transform method (EMsDTM) is applied to get the accurate approximate solutions for strongly nonlinear duffing oscillator. The main improvement of EMsDTM which is to reduce the number of arithmetic operations, is thoroughly investigated and compared with the classic multi-step differential transform method (MsDTM). To illustrate the applicabil...
